No Surprises Act Notice
At Saha Counseling, we are committed to clear, transparent pricing. If you do not have health insurance, or you choose not to use your insurance for services, federal law may give you the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges before you receive care. The No Surprises Act took effect on January 1, 2022 and includes protections for uninsured and self-pay patients.
Your Right to a Good Faith Estimate
If you are uninsured or not using insurance to pay for your care, you generally have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate in writing for the expected cost of your scheduled services. In most cases, this estimate must be provided when you schedule care at least 3 business days in advance, or when you ask for one.
A Good Faith Estimate explains the expected charges for the health care items or services that are reasonably anticipated as part of your care. It is meant to help you understand your likely out-of-pocket costs before treatment begins.
What the Estimate Covers
For services provided by Saha Counseling, your Good Faith Estimate may include expected charges for:
Initial assessment or intake appointments
Individual therapy sessions
Couples therapy sessions
Other scheduled counseling services, if applicable
Good Faith Estimates currently list expected charges for a single provider or facility.
Important Things to Know
A Good Faith Estimate is not a bill. It does not require you to obtain services from Saha Counseling, and actual services may change if your clinical needs change.
You may not receive a Good Faith Estimate for emergency care.
If Your Bill Is Higher Than Expected
If you receive a bill from Saha Counseling that is at least $400 more than the Good Faith Estimate from this provider, you may have the right to begin the patient-provider dispute resolution process. This process uses an independent third party to review the bill and determine the appropriate payment amount.
To use that federal dispute process, you should keep a copy of your Good Faith Estimate and compare it to your final bill.
How to Request a Good Faith Estimate
You may request a Good Faith Estimate from Saha Counseling before scheduling services or at any time before a scheduled appointment if you plan to pay out of pocket.
To request an estimate, please contact us through our website contact form or by phone before your appointment. Please let us know:
The service you are seeking
Whether you are uninsured or choosing not to use insurance
Your preferred appointment timing, if known
We will provide the estimate as required under applicable law.
